Job Summary

Provides complex technical services and product support activities to Territory Sales Mgrs. (SAMs), National Account Managers, OEM/Direct Sales and CITGO customers.  Maintains information and updates technical information banks.  Coordinates and oversees the activities in conducting plant lubrication surveys.  Represents CITGO at trade shows. Provides field training to customers, end users and CITGO employees.  Acts as liaison between manufacturing operations, product development laboratory, and customers. Provides support in other areas as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree and 8 years of experience in lubricants required.
  • Should have good mechanical aptitude, lubricants and lubrication knowledge, technical training or background.  Good interpersonal skills. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, engineering, tribology or related field is preferred.
  • Experience in conducting training is desirable

Job Duties

  • Technical training of TSMs (SAMs), Marketers, Marketers’ employees and end users regarding products, performance capabilities and technical issues.  Coordinate region and Territory technical presentations.
  • Handle Region technical issues, product recommendations, technical problems, lubricant survey and assist in sales calls.  Facilitate field problems through close working relationships with marketers and end users.
  • Monitor existing Marketers bulk grease packaging facilities as well as approve new locations and train new packaging location employees.
  • Stays abreast of industry trends and changes by participating in training schools, seminars and professional organizations.  Constantly updates information on trends and improved technical methods.  Continues to acquire and gain knowledge in the field of Tribology.
  • Manages the technical administrative functions, TSRs, cross-references and lubricant surveys.  Coordinates the day to day technical and technical administrative needs to the region- TSRs, technical questions, cross-references, product recommendations, report preparation.  Handle routine phone requests regarding technical issues.
  • Participate and assist direct selling opportunities with TSMs, National Accounts, OEM/Direct, and Marketers.  Initiate sales calls on direct sales opportunities.   Contact OEMs to have CITGO products approved and to uncover selling opportunities.
  • Communicate the field and end users perspectives to colleagues and management. Provides the technical perspective on the development of new products.  Participates in collecting and monitoring field tests on CITGO products.
