Job Summary
The Machinery Vibration Analyst is responsible for monitoring and analyzing the Mechanical Integrity (MI) of rotating equipment including compressors, pumps, turbines, fin fans, and motors using vibration analysis and other predictive maintenance techniques to support reliability and asset integrity within our operations. The analyst will collect and interpret vibration data, diagnose mechanical issues, and provide actionable recommendations to prevent equipment failures and unplanned downtime. In addition, this role is responsible for developing and submitting monthly condition monitoring reports that summarize equipment health & identify trends for our maintenance and reliability program records
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree preferred (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field)
- 5+ years of experience in vibration analysis or predictive maintenance in the oil & gas industry
- ISO Vibration Analyst Certification Category II, or III (Preferred from Vibration Institute)
- Strong knowledge of rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines, motors)
- Experience with vibration data collectors and analysis software (e.g., Emerson 2140 & AMS, Baker Hughes System 1, or similar)
- Understanding of predictive maintenance techniques and reliability best practices
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Computer skills, with emphasis on MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, and SAP (or other maintenance software)
Job Duties
- Perform route-based and unplanned vibration data collection on rotating equipment
- Analyze vibration data to identify faults such as imbalance, misalignment, looseness, and bearing failures
- Generate detailed reports with findings and recommended corrective actions
- Monitor condition trends and provide early detection of potential equipment issues
- Support root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and failure investigations
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to plan and prioritize repairs
- Maintain and manage condition monitoring databases and software systems
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, including working in hazardous/classified environments
- Assist in developing and improving reliability and condition-based maintenance programs

- Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker's Identification Credential (TWIC)
