Job Summary

The Financial Analyst at CITGO Petroleum Corporation’s Lake Charles Manufacturing Complex leverage their knowledge of Financial processes and Area Operation functions to act as an analytical resource for management by identifying and implementing solutions on economic opportunities. The Financial Analyst is primarily responsible for budgets, reporting, and leading the development of financials for different business units. 

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Engineering, or related field
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a refining and/or petrochemical facility
• Knowledge with financial/accounting and maintenance cost systems preferred
• Experience with budgets and budget processes preferred
• Familiarity with process unit flow and economics is helpful
• Must be competent in the use of Microsoft Office and SAP
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker's Identification Credential (TWIC)

Job Duties

• Provide accurate cost data to assist operations supervision in managing additives, chemicals, and catalyst programs
• Ensure that cost control systems adequately report maintenance costs for the area
• Assist the area team in reporting variances between current operations and the operating plan
• Gather data and prepare appropriate reports to communicate overall business performance to the area team
• Provide economic analysis and reports of non-conformance vs. budget and plan
• Work with area team to develop area business model that incorporates activity-based costing and design an activity-based budget
• Ensure that budget accurately reflects actual costs to date and projected cost of executing the area business plan
• Ensure timely, accurate compilation, analysis, forecasting, and reporting of current operations against the activity-based budget
• Take lead on technical development of budgets and financial analysis
• Provide detail break out of overtime and ensure costs are accurately charged to proper accounts
• Make all necessary presentations for budget process
• Assist area in the formulation of information for the Medium-Term Plan

Job Duties II

• Follow invoicing and ensure charges are correct
• Support the process of gathering information for Solomon and similar studies
• Prepare monthly information as directed by area manager on area’s performance on charge rates, product yields, and other information that is tied to overall performance
