Job Summary

Establishes and maintains effective quality assurance programs, guidelines and procedures to ensure that lubricants manufactured or marketed by CITGO meet or exceed specification.  Leads and directs quality related initiatives, including complaint responses, coordinating with Technology, Manufacturing, Lubricants Compliance and Legal as required.  Serves as quality assurance expert working with Sales, Customers, outside agencies as well as internal and external auditors. In addition, implements corrective actions and conducts root cause analyses to identify and resolve quality issues, ensuring continuous improvement and compliance with industry standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 7 years minimum of job-related experience required
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of manufacturing quality assurance practices and quality management systems.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 as an Internal Auditor; Internal audit certification required. Experience with data analysis tools (root cause analysis, Pareto Charts, etc.),
  • Lean, Six Sigma preferred, or other process improvement methodologies. 
  • STEM degree preferred.  Ability to work directly with internal and external customers. Computer proficiency and analytical skills.

Job Duties

  • Establishes and maintains quality related management of change (MOC) processes, coordinating with Technology, Manufacturing, and other stakeholders as required.  Supports quality aspects of systems implementations, upgrades, and troubleshooting (examples: WinLIMS, Enablon, Warehouse Management System).
  • Works with CITGO Plant quality assurance managers to harmonize quality assurance programs, procedures, and work instructions, leveraging better practices to drive long-term improvements. Supports quality certification process (example: ISO 9001).
  • Leads and facilitates investigations and responses to customer complaints related to product quality and quality-related incidents in collaboration with Technology, Legal, Customer Experience, Sales, and other key stakeholders. Directs product recall process
  • Conducts or directs periodic reviews of Plant quality practices and ensures follow-up to identified issues. Oversees plant corrective action responses (CAPA/NCR) and supplier corrective action responses (SCARs).
  • Supports quality assurance programs and reviews of contract plants and 3rd party warehouses, including prospective plants/warehouses, coordinating with Lubricants Contract Plant Manager.
  • Provides quality related expertise and support to internal and external customers as needed
  • Develop metrics and KPIs to track the success of QA programs and corrective actions.
  • Drives Continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing tools such as Six Sigma, Lean, and root cause analysis.
