Job Summary

The Construction Manager is responsible for all phases of construction, execution, and close-out of assigned capital projects. This includes ensuring the work is executed safely, free of environmental incidents, and performed according to the specifications. This position requires an experienced working knowledge of civil, structural, and mechanical construction, planning, execution, and the associated craft work along with knowledge of new installations of instrument and electrical systems.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field plus eight(8) years of related general industrial construction experience that includes a minimum of five (5) years of construction management experience, or
  • Associate's degree in related field plus ten (10) years of related general industrial construction experience that includes a minimum of five(5) years of construction management experience, or
  • Twelve (12) years of related general industrial construction experience that includes at least five (5) years of construction management experience, in lieu of degree.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker's Identification Credential (TWIC)
  • Preferred: Construction management experience with strong knowledge of civil, structural, and mechanical construction, planning, execution, and associated craft work.
  • Preferred: Strong knowledge of instrument and electrical installations

Job Duties

  • Responsible for overall safety of construction activities on assigned projects by monitoring safety programs and compliance
  • Actively participate in audits and inspections and promote safety improvement ideas by setting strong safety expectations and habits.
  • Manage assigned construction projects to insure efficient execution. Responsible for all phases of construction
  • Assist in developing and maintaining systems to support capital construction such as contractor cost reporting, construction KPI's, contractor backlog, and contractor manpower forecast.
  • Work with project management and purchasing to develop project schedules, contracting strategies, and construction planning/logistics.
  • Provide advice/approval on construction methods, field changes, and conflict resolution; participate in constructability and lessons learned reviews.
  • Coordinate all contract companies involved in assigned construction projects to assure teamwork is achieved and work is performed safely and efficiently.
