Job Summary

This position is on-site in Cicero, IL with the Maintenance Department.  The Mechanic’s Helper provides assistance to the Mechanic and Mechanic II while receiving on the job training.  After 2 years, if all qualifications and training has been completed satisfactorily, the Mechanic’s Helper progresses to Mechanic.  The Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing/replacing all manufacturing, packaging, and loading equipment (pumps, valves, meters, etc.) to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.  They are responsible for building and infrastructure repairs and maintaining building and grounds.  Mechanics use a variety of tools and crafts, including welding and electrical work.  The Mechanic is also responsible for operating and maintaining the water treatment plant.  All work must be done is a safe and environmentally responsible manner, consistent with all CITGO and government standards and policies.

 

Expected starting rate is $36.41

Minimum Qualifications

  1. High School Diploma with 5 - 7 years of maintenance experience in an industrial setting
  2. Technical Degree with 2 years of maintenance experience in an industrial setting
  3. Valid Driver's License
  4. Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker's Identification Credential (TWIC)

Job Duties

  1. Assisting with repairs on pumps, meters, transfer lines, and packaging equipment to minimize down time.
  2. Assisting with electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
  3. Operating the water treatment plant.
  4. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on all plant equipment.
  5. Maintain building and grounds.
